A Family Story, Passed Down with Love

A Family Story, Passed Down with Love

In Greece, the kitchen is more than a room; it is the living heart of the home. It is where the gifts of the earth are received with gratitude, where simple ingredients are transformed by hand, and where care becomes nourishment. It is where wisdom passes quietly from one generation to the next.

At Go Greek Yogurt, this inheritance is deeply personal. The yaya whose image appears in the murals inside our stores is the grandmother of our co-founder, Jonathan Williams. Her presence is more than a piece of our visual identity. She is family, memory, and lineage, a living connection between what came before us and what we hope to carry forward.

To us, she embodies the spirit of Greece itself: devotion to family, generosity of heart, reverence for the land, intimacy with nature, and the belief that food is one of the oldest languages of love. In the long tables, the shared bowls, the gardens, the village kitchens, and the hands that prepare food with care, there is a quiet wisdom, simple, enduring, and abundant.

Go Greek was born from that spirit. From the belief that nourishment connects us not only to one another, but to place, memory, ancestry, and the natural world. We seek to carry forward what is rooted and authentic while allowing it to live anew in another time and for another generation.

For tradition is not preserved by holding it still. It remains alive by being lived, shared, and passed on.

And so, wherever a Go Greek table is set, we hope something ancient continues: the offering of food, the gathering of people, and the quiet remembrance that what is passed to us with love becomes ours to honor and carry forward.
